Mundesley Lifeboat could not do the vital work it does without the support of amazing volunteers like you. Are you looking for a fulfilling voluntary role that has a positive impact on the local community? Come and join Mundesley Lifeboat and help us save lives!

 

We are currently looking for volunteers to join us in the following roles. No previous experience is required as a comprehensive training scheme will be provided.

 

 

BOAT CREW

Join the boat crew and respond to emergency call outs aboard our inshore lifeboat, the Edna Caxton. You could be responding to a wide range of incidents from retrieving a paddleboarder blown off shore, a diver experiencing cardiac arrest through to a weaver fish sting on the beach. No call out is ever the same, meaning that the crew have to be ready for anything. To meet these demands the crew commit to regular training in boat handling, casualty care, Navigation and radio communications.

Crew Members need to be:

  • Aged between 18 and 55 years old.
  • Complete a health assessment.
  • Be physically fit.
  • Live and/or work close to the lifeboat station and be able to respond in approximately 10 minutes whilst keeping within the speed limits.
  • Pass a probationary period.
  • Be a team player.
  • Enjoy hard physical work.
  • Get on well with other people.
  • Communicate easily.

 

SHORE CREW

Supporting our boat crew, shore crew are responsible for launching and recovering the boat using our purpose designed semi-submersible softrak. Additionally, the shore crew ensure that our equipment is available and maintained to a high standard plus keeping the public safe during operation of all service vehicles on the beach.

Shore crew members commit to regular training in tracked vehicle handling/maintenance, casualty care and radio communications.

 

  • Must be over 18 but no upper age limit.
  • Live and/or work close to the lifeboat station and be able to respond in approximately 10 minutes whilst keeping within the speed limits.
  • Pass a probationary period.
  • Be a team player.
  • Get on well with other people.
  • Communicate easily.

 

JUNIOR CREW (14 – 18 Years)

Are you a thrill seeking 14–18-year-old looking for an outlet that provides you and opportunity to serve your community combined with unprecedented training?

Our junior crew train alongside our boat crew, undertaking all activities required of full crew except for night launches and attending emergency call outs.
