Today we succesfully operated our new Softrak launch and recovery tractor on the beach. The tractor is a complex piece of equipment requiring trained drivers to operate it. Each of the drivers has to have successfully completed their ‘Class h’ qualification, allowing them to drive the vehicle on the public highway or in areas where we interface with members of the public. Inhouse training has now commenced with the unit only acting as a replacment for our original tractor initially, then introducing a new lifeboat and carriage as training and skills progress.
