Today we took the first big step in the process of replacing our Lifeboat at Mundesley. Alan Goodchild from Goodchild Marine Services visited the station to carry out detailed measurement of the existing boat, prior to placing the order for the hull. To aid the design process Alan also carried out checks to verify the longitudinal centre of gravity and the final fully fitted weight. With assistance from our Chairman Nick’s farm tractor and borrowing a load cell from SSCS in Great Yarmouth, all the work went very smoothly. The pandemic has delayed the start of the project but we are still hoping to have the new lifeboat on station during early summer 2021.
